I am hoping it is an easy fix, but here is what I observed.
Due to life, I have been away from my recently acquired digital recorder for about 6 months. I went to power it up last night to test some brand new Sennheiser headphones, and saw something weird. The logo, writing, and fader displays on the LCD seemed to flicker. then they went off. No bleeding or black screen...the screen was still lit up. I cycled power a couple of times and saw no change. Could this be something fixed simply by a PC connection or some hard reset? Or would I be looking at dropping it off at a repair center that may fix it like Sweetwater Sound? Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, not an expert but the flickering might suggest something on the power supply packing jn and finally dying I.e. (say) the 5v power line as an example. Is it only the LCD blank that is the symptom? Could of course be the LCD packing in.....unless you have a schematic and are handy with electrics it would likely be a repair centre job. I need a schematic for the psu in the original 2488 as mine has faults.

Good luck with the repair.

Hoping it's just the LCD...I could replace both...but the LCD is still lit and all the lights and buttons seem to work.
Will keep you posted...any other suggestions on where to buy the LCD replacement?

Hi, sorry, don't know where to get an LCD. Perhaps a new thread on here "replacement screen for 2488 MK2" etc, good luck. If you find a schematic for these drop me a message. Cheers.
