On my model 16, the tip of a 1/4" stereo plug detached with attempting to remove it from the headphone jack. Now when trying to insert a new plug it only engages part way into the jack. I have attempted to disassemble the board myself to access the Jack but there is far too much involved and is beyond my skills and confidence levels. Any suggestions on service and repair shops in the Portland Oregon area? This is the board we use at our gigs and hopefully can find a shop with a fairly quick turn around. Any help is appreciated.

A better information resource might be "google" (search something like "Tascam service Portland Oregon"??). google can be fairly handy sometimes.

BUT: I'd be willing to be that "quick turnaround" - whether it's Tascam service, or independent - is a phrase with about as much basis in reality as "honest politician". So you might wanna hit up your friends to borrow a board to use in the meantime...

Good luck!

@Dennis Fieger TASCAM’s U.S. website has an "Authorized Service Centers" section under support.

States with at least one service center are listed, otherwise select a nearby listed State.

You can also contact TASCAM's main service center, or use their contact form, to inquire about the nearest authorized repair location.

I've hauled my busted Model 24 (USB port broken) to two different "TASCAM CERTIFIED" repair shops, each a full day's drive away, to discover neither had a sound system to even test anything on. The one in Nebraska (I live in Oklahoma) took almost a year to make the repair and I'm not even sure they fully repaired it since I could never figure out how to use it in the first place. Definitely ask if they have a sound system to check the unit with!
